My neighborhood
A neighborhood is an area of
a city with a sizeable population. The neighborhood has its own cultural,
economic and social characteristics.
What can we find in a
neighborhood?
We can find different
businesses such as bakeries, pharmacies or supermarkets.
What can we find in your
neighborhood? What do you think if we take a walk through the neighborhood in
which we live and discover what it is like? I suggest you take a walk around
the neighborhood accompanied by your families and take a camera. Make photos of
the shops in your area, the park (if you have one), the school, the medical
center ... Then you can print those photos and make a mural with them in which
you can also drawing and writting: if the neighborhood streets are wide, What do you like most
about your neighborhood and what do you like the least? How are the people in
my neighborhood? Are there houses or is it a neighborhood with many buildings?
Where do you live, in a house or a flat?
To finish, you could share
your work in the blog and also take them to class so that the rest of the
classmates know you a little more. Finally, you will explain to your classmates what you like most about your neighborhood.
This new activity is
designed to involve the entere educational community, involving families, teachers, students, neighborhood. Nothing better than the family to help the
child discover the environment that surrounds him.
Hi Lola this is a wonderful and complete activity through which students can improve their speaking, use of English ,grammar and vocabulary skills. It is also a very practical activity that may develop their creativity through photographs, and oral presentations in class. It seems to me a very full activity and that they will never forget.
